My introduction to the Alaskan malamutes began in 1998. I was introduced to my future sister-in-laws registered malamute Little Tobesha He was a massive, loving malamute. After meeting Toby I decided I needed my own malamute. I obtained my first malamute, Jinx in April of 1999. My adventure with the Alaksan malamute has only increased from that point.
Currently we have the resident couch potato Wolfmountain's Anck-Su-Namun and youngster Goldust's Wolf Glacier Mythieus. Mythieus is our current show dog. We also have plans to obtain some working titles with both malamutes.
We have spent the past few years intensively studying malamute pedigrees, developing a better "eye" for the type of malamute we like. We plan to spend an additional year traveling/attending Alaskan malamute Nationals and visiting the breeders we are interested in collaborating with. This way we can meet the dogs we are interested in and put our hands on them.
We have narrowed down the list of kennels we plan to collaborate with. All the kennels we are considering breed T'Domar/Kodara stock. We plan to obtain our foundation female from one of these kennels, details will be posted once they are finalized.
We are also working with a breeder whose foundation malamutes were mainly M'Loot and her current malamutes continue to be stongly M'Loot based. This second line has proven to produce well with the primary lines we are considering. If things go according to plan our first litter will be produced in 2014/2015 and our first homebred female being a result of crossing these two spectacular malamute lines. We will, of course, breed first for health and temperament but we are also focusing on bone and coat.
